因缘：昨日星期日新加坡弥陀寺举办法会结束后，有大众莲友祈请净本师父前来临终医院(Hospice) 提供念佛关于给予入院的母亲（陈老菩萨）。因家属担心情况危急，因此当天法会结束后的傍晚师父即带领义工们前往。
Yesterday after the Dharma assembly at the 弥陀寺 in Singapore, one of the lotus friends requested Master Jing Ben to visit a hospice to provide outdoor care with recitation for their mother. Having concerns on her critical condition, Master Jing Ben and volunteers promptly headed to the hospice later in the evening, immediately after the session.
▪陈老人家生病数个月，近期恶化比较快，目前已经体弱，但还会些精神可以沟通。师父和老人家交流一阵子以后，得知老人家之前已经有接触到念佛，所以面对生死大事还能坦然接受。
The mother had been battling her illness for several months, and her condition had deteriorated rapidly in recent times. She was currently physically weak but still had some moments of clarity in communication. After a brief conversation between Master Jing Ben and the mother, it was revealed that she had prior exposure to the practice of Nianfo, which enabled her to face the matter of life and death with equanimity.
▪家属担心老人家是否还有其他牵挂。因此师父引导老人家说，既然有牵挂的事情无法全然放下，不然我们就念佛交给阿弥陀佛。师父问老人家说：“是我们自己处理比较好，还是交给阿弥陀佛处理比较好？” 老人家听到点点头说：“当然是交给阿弥陀佛比较好。” 老人家听完即合掌念佛。师父引导念佛一阵子以后，看到老人家需要休息，即打算启程回寺。
However, her family members were concerned on whether she had any lingering worries. Therefore, Master Jing Ben gently guided the mother, explaining that if there were unresolved concerns, we could entrust them to Amitabha Buddha. Master Jing Ben asked her, "Is it better for us to handle these concerns ourselves, or is it better to entrust them to Amitabha Buddha?" She nodded in agreement and said, "Of course, it's better to entrust them to Amitabha Buddha." Upon hearing this, the old mother immediately joined her palms together and began to recite Namo Amituofo. After leading her in the practice of Nianfo for some time, Master Jing Ben noticed that the old mother needed rest, so he decided it was time to return to the temple.
▪回程之前，家属表达说，到时老人家往生，希望师父能来开示引导。师父说，如因缘具足，都欢喜结缘。师父也安慰家属说，也不用担心太多，毕竟老人家早已念佛，现在家人也在念佛，所以阿弥陀佛都会加持顺利的。
Before leaving, the family expressed their wish that if their mother was to pass away, Master Jing Ben would come to provide guidance and assisted recitation. Master Jing Ben replied that if the circumstances allowed, he would gladly do so. He also reassured the family, advising them not to worry excessively, as the mother had already been practicing Nianfo, and now her family members were also engaged in the practice. Therefore, Amitabha Buddha's blessings would ensure a smooth transition.
▪到了今天早上，家属来电，老人家在几个小时前半夜已经往生。或许老人家真把师父的话听进去，念佛靠倒弥陀，即时往生。因此师父中午前往医院给予老人家开示，并带领家属们念佛。
This morning, the family called to inform that the old mother had passed away several hours ago. Perhaps the old mother truly took Master Jing Ben's guidance to heart, relying on Amitabha Buddha and achieving rebirth in Pure Land instantly. Consequently, Master Jing Ben visited the hospice facility at noon to provide guidance once again and lead the family members in the practice of Nianfo.
🙏祈愿弥陀慈父接引陈老菩萨，速往极乐，离苦得乐。南無阿彌陀佛。
May Amitabha Buddha deliver the old mother to be reborn in the Pure Land, where she can be free from suffering and attain eternal happiness. Namo Amituofo
