Zhong Yuan-Rite of Deliverance [Retrospective]
▪马来西亚净土宗总部（吉隆坡）于8月20日（星期日）举行中元念佛祈福超荐法会，上午吸引约二百位莲友前来参与，下午则通过线上Zoom平台直播，大约有七百位大众上网共同参加。中元节为华人传统节日，在佛门则称为盂兰盆节，法会的核心目标在于超度已故亲人，使其远离轮回，得以永脱生死，往生净土，永远离苦得乐。
On August 20th (Sunday), the Malaysia Pure Land Buddhist Centre Headquarters in Kuala Lumpur held the Zhong Yuan-Rite of Deliverance. In the morning, around two hundred followers gathered to participate, and in the afternoon, a live broadcast was conducted on the Zoom platform, attracting approximately seven hundred people to join online. The session is a traditional Chinese festival, also known in Buddhism as the Ullambana Festival. The core objective of the session is to offer prayers for the deceased, guiding them away from the cycle of reincarnation, allowing them to transcend the cycle of birth and death, and be reborn in the Pure Land, forever liberated from suffering.
▪法会的开幕仪式由住持净本法师主法，引领着众多莲友们齐声诵念《念佛超荐仪轨》，并诚心专一称念佛号。在庄严的仪式中，众多四众弟子皆共同祈愿，希望能仰靠阿弥陀佛的慈悲加持，超度并接引所有有缘往生者。道场不仅免费提供所有参与者供立“超度牌位”及“祈福牌位”，以便满足广大信众为逝者超荐、为在世的亲人的善愿，更以声声“南无阿弥陀佛”传递此坚定的信念。
The opening ceremony of the ceremony was presided over by the abbot Venerable Master Jingben, leading numerous devotees in reciting the "Ritual of Rite of Deliverance" and chanting Namo Amituofo. In the solemn atmosphere, all participants collectively aspired to rely on the compassionate blessings of Amitabha Buddha, to assist all sentient beings who passed away to achieve liberation from the cycle of birth and death. The Dharma center provided prayer tablets for free to all participants, facilitating the wishes of countless faithful to dedicate merits to their departed loved ones or to express blessings for their living family members. The resounding chant of "Namo Amitabha Buddha" echoed, conveying steadfast faith.
▪在本次法会中，净本法师开示到有关人生真相的重要讯息，并提醒大众要珍惜学佛念佛的机缘，并强调了念佛超度的深刻意义以及其殊胜之处。师父鼓励大众通过念佛来，超度已故历代宗亲等，此不仅不辜负与逝者此生相遇的因缘，更是能自利利他，共同实现解脱的目标。
During this ceremony, Venerable Master Jingben delivered teachings on the truth of life, urging the attendees to cherish the opportunity of learning and practicing Buddhism, emphasizing the profound meaning of chanting Amitabha's name and its unparalleled significance. The master encouraged everyone to chant Amitabha's name and dedicate merits to ancestors and loved ones who have passed away. Such acts not only honor the karmic connection with our departed, but also serve the dual purpose of benefiting oneself and others, facilitating liberation.
▪因此，净土宗所举办的中元念佛祈福超荐法会，不仅是一场信仰与情感的融合仪式，更是让大众超越生死的隔阂，通过法会来表达对逝者的怀念以及报恩，以及对未来如法的祈愿。这一活动将继续在念佛信仰与人生路上发挥作用，为众生带来安心以及真实的利益。
Therefore, the ceremony is not merely a blend of faith and emotions; it also offers the opportunity for individuals to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Through the ceremony, participants express their reminiscence and gratitude toward the departed and offer prayers for their future journey in alignment with the Dharma. This event will continue to play a role in promoting faith in Amitabha Buddha and bringing peace and genuine benefit to practitioners along their spiritual paths.
