2025年1月22日：【只管念佛，阿弥陀佛都知道】Just Recite the Buddha’s Name—Amitabha Buddha Knows Everything.
⧉ 有一位海外莲友来讯，焦急地问道：“师父，我父亲在1月1日突发心梗往生了。这七七四十九日里，我应该为父亲念佛还是诵经？请师父开示。”
我回答：“最好是念佛。因为念佛能够让你父亲依靠阿弥陀佛的愿力，得生极乐净土。”
莲友听后还是十分担忧：“师父，我现在的心很急，很想祈求阿弥陀佛接引我爸爸往生净土。做人实在太苦了。”
我安慰道：“心乱心急，正好用来念佛。把一切交给阿弥陀佛。”
莲友再问：“师父，那我每天该如何回向呢？请您开示。”
我答：“你有这份心愿，阿弥陀佛自然知道。只管念佛就好。”
莲友似乎仍有疑问：“师父，我是想问，具体要怎么回向给我父亲呢？”
我再次强调：“只管念佛，阿弥陀佛都知道。”
莲友恍然有所领悟，可又迟疑地说：“可我担心超度父亲时，万一遇到同名同姓的，会不会对不上？该怎么办呢？”
我笑道：“你的心愿，阿弥陀佛全都知道。”
这时，莲友豁然开朗，感恩地说：“谢谢师父，我明白了。”

想想看，难道我们的心愿，阿弥陀佛会不知道吗？难道我们想超度的对象是谁，阿弥陀佛还会弄不清楚吗？连我们自己都知道的事，难道具足无量光明、无量寿命、无量智慧与神通的阿弥陀佛却会不知？
古人说：杞人忧天。我们若连阿弥陀佛都要替他“操心”，岂不荒唐可笑？前几天我才对另一位莲友说过：“我们可以不相信自己，但绝不能不相信阿弥陀佛的大愿力。”南無阿彌陀佛。

English Translation:
【Just Recite the Buddha’s Name—Amitabha Buddha Knows Everything.】
A fellow practitioner from overseas sent a message, anxiously asking:“Master, my father suddenly passed away from a heart attack on January 1. During these 49 days following his passing, should I recite the Buddha’s name (念佛) for him or chant sutras? Please advise.”
I replied:“It’s best to recite the Buddha’s name. By reciting Amitabha Buddha’s name, your father can rely on the power of Amitabha’s vows and attain rebirth in the Western Pure Land.”
Still worried, the practitioner said:“Master, I feel so anxious. I really want to pray for Amitabha Buddha to deliver my father to the Pure Land. Life is so difficult in this world.”
I consoled him:“When your mind is disturbed and anxious, that is precisely the best time to recite the Buddha’s name. Entrust everything to Amitabha Buddha.”
The practitioner asked again:“Master, how should I dedicate the merit each day? Please enlighten me.”
I answered:“Since you have this aspiration, Amitabha Buddha naturally knows it. Just focus on reciting the Buddha’s name.”
He still had doubts:“Master, I’d like to know specifically how to transfer merit to my father.”
I emphasized again:“Just recite the Buddha’s name. Amitabha Buddha knows it all.”
He seemed to understand somewhat, but still hesitated:“I’m worried that if there’s another person with the same name when performing the deliverance, won’t that cause confusion? What should I do?”
I smiled and said:“All of your intentions are known by Amitabha Buddha.”
At that moment, the practitioner finally became enlightened and said gratefully:“Thank you, Master. I understand now.”
Think about it: Could it be that Amitabha Buddha does not know our wishes? Would He be unclear about for whom we’re performing deliverance? Even we ourselves know; so how could Amitabha Buddha—endowed with infinite light, infinite life, infinite wisdom, and infinite spiritual power—not know?
The ancient saying tells of “the man who feared the sky would fall”—worrying over nothing. If we feel we have to “worry” on behalf of Amitabha Buddha, isn’t that absurd? A few days ago, I told another practitioner:“We may doubt ourselves, but we must never doubt the great vow-power of Amitabha Buddha.”
